The Paterna City Council has become the first town hall in all of Spain to implement Soocial Distance technology in the Town Hall’s Information and Citizen Service Offices (SIAC) to guarantee the maintenance of the safety distance between users.
This system, which has been developed by the paternera start-up NBN23 and has been in operation since this week, manages to control, through cards that are given to each citizen, that they maintain the social security distance while allowing them to know the capacity of offices in real time.
To carry out this technology, a locator has been installed and two types of cards are available, one for City Hall staff and the other for neighbors. In addition, disinfectant machines have been arranged for the material used.
In addition, this innovative system also allows, in the case of positives by Covid19, to record which other users have been close to the infected person and how far away, information that can be very useful for health authorities.
The councilor for Smart City and Citizen Services, Lucas Jodar, explained that “the card vibrates if the distance between two people is less than 1.5 meters and, in addition to having a screen on which all users who at that moment are waiting to be attended by the City Council staff ”.
In this sense, Jodar has also highlighted that “this initiative allows to maintain the safety space of each citizen and worker and once again puts Paterna at the forefront in terms of the application of technological innovation to fight against the spread of the coronavirus.”
The tool has been promoted by the parental startup NBN23, installed in the EGM Parque Tecnológico de Paterna, which develops technology internationally and is carrying out a pilot test of this tool at the offices of the Municipal Sports City and at the Liceo school Hispanic from the city. Javier Bosch, CEO of Soocial Distance, spoke about the installation and the work with the City Council: “We are at a time when we must provide safety and prevention and with our technology the City Council of Paterna is going to achieve it. It is not the first time that we have worked with them and it is very important to see the trust they have in technology to improve the safety and experience of all their citizens ”, he declared.
